OYSTERS
I am enamored by oyster shells- their smooth jewel-like interiors are a sharp contrast to their gnarly, weathered exteriors. Each is unique in size, shape and color. When wet, their colors shimmer. In composing each painting, I straddle the line between representation and abstraction- choosing my own color palette, simplifying and adding gestural line work with pastels.
