ABSTRACTS
I am inspired by the colors, textures and patterns in nature. Many of my abstract paintings start from a photo I have taken on one of my outdoor adventures. Color and line are two of my favorite elements of art and abstract works give me the opportunity to simplify shapes and explore different color combinations. One of my favorite artists, Brian Rutenberg said, “I am not painting a tree, I am painting the essence of a tree.” That feeling is what I aspire to achieve in my abstract work.
